I am writing to recommend our daycare provider, Rose Picini. Our kids (3 years old and 18 months) have been there for 2 years and since birth, respectively, and we are broken-hearted that we are moving this summer and will be pulling the kids out of her care. I could not be more pleased with the way she and her co-workers have loved, nurtured, and cared for our children ... Read more!

"When my son was nearly two, I decided one day to teach him his name. When I asked him if he knew his name, he replied by telling me not only his whole name but also his age! I asked him who taught him that and he said Miss Tere!"

Rose Picini has been an important part of our family for eight years. She and her staff have cared for both of my children from infancy to kindergarten, providing a loving and stimulating environment for them. In addition to seeing to their physical and emotional needs, Rose helps each child with the social and developmental skills they need for pre-school and kindergarten. My kids feel like they are part of a family at Little Wonders and have formed close friendships with the other children in Rose's care. I recommend Little Wonders Playschool to my friends and neighbors without hesitation.

Miss Rose has been watching our children for the past two years. Every morning our kids get out of the car and are excited to be at "school". Rose and the other two caregivers, Miss Presci and Miss Tere, provide a very warm, loving and stimulating environment.

They have also taught our children to be polite and follow rules. We have happy and respectful children thanks to all the time they spend with Miss Rose and her team. Our kids' grandparents think we have raised good kids, but I know much of it comes from the environment at Miss Rose's.

Safety is the number 1 priority for Rose. I have always had peace of mind with our children in Rose's care.

We have gotten to know the other families that bring their kids to Miss Rose's. It feels like one big family when we see each other in the morning or at the end of the day, at our kids' birthday parties or the holiday parties that Rose puts together for the kids and families.

We are moving out of the area soon. The most difficult aspect of our move is taking our kids out of such a warm and positive environment. We are very grateful to Miss Rose for what she has done for our kids, and our family.

I could write pages recommending "Mommy" Rose for your children. My son, now 13 years old began with Rose at 4 weeks old. My daughter, now 9, began at 6 weeks. I was a nervous first time mom leaving my 4 week old with a stranger but quickly came to realize that my child could not have been in better hands.

Rose's childcare has the best nurturing care available in the Alexandria area. From her helpers to her craft projects, your kids will not sit idle unless they are napping. As a working mom it was such an asset to have Rose working with me to help potty train my kids, help wean them from pacifiers, teach them how to eat veggies, etc. In most cases she did a much better job of those "hard" jobs than I did. I couldn't have done it without her. Some of my most precious keepsakes are things that my kids made for me while at Rose's. And some of my favorite photos were taken while my kids were in Rose's care. Water day, playing in the snow, the Halloween party, face painting at the Christmas party...all special times and memories.

Not only did Rose take care of my children but she, and her family, became very special friends. In fact, when we adopted our second child, Rose wrote a recommendation letter for us. Who better than the special lady who took care of our son? And then our daughter.

We moved to the New Orleans area in 2008 but my kids still talk about and remember Mommy Rose and Miss Prescy and often flip through the photo albums that Rose gave them when they left her care. Every now and then a Filipino word slips into our conversation and man, do we miss her lumpia!!!

If the Little Wonders Playschool has a vacancy and you have a child who needs care, run, don't walk, to talk to Rose. I can assure you that you will instantly feel at home and convinced that her home is the right place for your child.

I have 2 kids currently at Rose's (18 months & 5). I love her and her teachers. We found her through a friend when my first son was 1. We were at a center for a very short period of time. It was not a good fit and then we found Rose! It is truly a family atmosphere. She loves these children as her own. When my husband and I interviewed with her we knew that this was the place for us.

The kids are fed well, nurtured and loved. She has a great schedule, that she closely follows and works with the children on their fine motor skills and development. My son just finished his last year of preschool at St. Aidan's and his teacher told me that he was the third child that came to her from Rose. She was so impressed and said that Rose must spend a lot of time working with the children because their fine motor skills were so advanced for their ages.

I could go on forever about how much I love Ros! Rose, Prescy and Tere have truly become part of our family.
